Over the last decade, the Hippocampal Subfields Group has worked with the neuroimaging community to create a harmonized protocol for segmentation of subfields in the hippocampal body. This effort recently expanded to include protocols for the hippocampal head and tail, and the MTL cortex. In order to integrate the new protocol into the larger research community, we plan provide in-person opportunities to learn from experts in the field.
Available in-person training opportunities
We are excited to announce that the Hippocampal Subfields Group (HSG) will be hosting a special in-person event following OHBM 2026 in the beautiful city of Bordeaux, France!
Join us for a unique opportunity to learn, connect, and dive deep into hippocampal subfield research. The event will begin with a half-day symposium highlighting recent scientific advancements, followed by a hands-on 1.5-day workshop dedicated to the HSG harmonized protocol for hippocampal subfield segmentation.
🗓 Event Dates
- 19 June 2026 – 0.5 Day Symposium
- 19–20 June 2026 – 1.5 Day Hands-on Workshop
🧠 What to Expect
- Focused instruction on the HSG harmonized segmentation protocol
- Expert anatomical training led by established protocol specialists
- Interaction and collaboration with fellow researchers in the field
Exact location and session times will be announced shortly.
Until then — save the date and stay tuned for more details!
